Ultimate, Pressure Bio-filtering
BioPRO Bio-filters
provide exceptional biological filtration and are intended for high
fish density applications. Each BioPRO features our unique BioCELL
bio-media, made of neutrally buoyant, "high-impact" polystyrene. BioCell's design combines
just the right amount of self-cleaning with a highly protected surface area (198 ft²/ft³
for nitrifying bacteria colonies). During filter mode, the BioCELL media bed is fixed (stationary) inside
the filter. Backwashing gently lifts the BioCELL media bed allowing
for better solid waste removal from the filter.
For Best Results:
A mechanical pre-filter should be positioned prior to the BioPRO filter. This will prevent debris and heavy solid waste
from entering, collecting and fouling within the filter. Install the BioPRO after the skimmer box (using filter pads) for
optimal bio-filtration. Or, install our Tadpole Filter on the pump’s suction
as a pre-filter.

Applications:
BioPRO Filters are available in many sizes capable of handling ponds
up to 16,800 gallons. BioPRO Filters are biological filters and must
be positioned after a mechanical filter.
