Automatic Backwash Valve:

Combined our optional, E-6000F Series Automatic Backwash Valve with any of our Commercial PSP Pond Filters for a completely automatic system. E-6000F Series Automatic Backwash Valves are timer or pressure controlled (adjustable) systems that house both, the valve actuator and the controller in one enclosure. An integrated touchpad switch allows the operator to initiate standard operating commands that include backwash/rinse and drain or pump shutoff. Equipped with adjustable potentiometers to set backwash and rinse durations, the E-6000F Automatic Backwash Valve gives the operator control of his own specifications: Backwash- 1 to 11 minutes and Rinse- 20 seconds to 4 minutes.

The SSM-EA-50 pump controller with a 50 amp capacity is required to operate the E-6000F Series Valve. The valve's internal pump relay is wired to the SSM-EA-50 Pump Controller that controls the on/off sequence of the pump during the valve's backwash and rinse cycles.

For Best Filtration Results:

First, maximize the circulation inside the pond by utilizing several clean water returns, this will increase water circulation and help to suspend solid waste. Suspending solid waste in the pond helps it reach the bottom drain or surface skimmer, where it is then carried to the Commercial PSP Pond Filter. Additionally, Commercial PSP Pond Filters are "fixed-bed" filters and require a high-pressure pump (high RPM) equipped with a strainer basket. Properly match the pumps flow rate to that of the pond filter (See "Commercial PSP Pond Filter Specifications" chart below").

Our unique FilterCLAY Media’s round shape, 4-8 mm size and density is best suited for heavy solid waste applications. These critical characteristics allow for a more complete backwash, the resistance of caking and the resistance of channeling of the media bed. Additionally, the porous skin and core provide an exceptional environment for colonizing nitrifying bacteria.

FilterCLAY, Better than Sand

FilterCLAY's 4-8 mm size and density resists caking and channeling, a common problem with fine sand media when used in heavy, solid waste applications. No filter screens are needed with FilterCLAY and it provides both mechanical and biological filtration.

FilterCLAY, Better than Floating Beads

FilterCLAY sinks and therefore does not require "clogging filter screens" to keep it inside the pond filter, a common problem associated with floating
bead filters.

PSP Pond Filter Internal Laterals

Larger openings maximize circulation within the PSP during filtering and backwashing, resulting in better solid waste capture and filter media bed cleaning.
